This weekend will be the last weekend of operations of Locomotive 40 for about two years. She goes down for here 1472 day boiler inspection. While she is down for the inspection, we will also tackle running gear and tender issues. We expect to have her back in service in 2023. We were able to add one more day of operations. Locomotive 40’s last excursion train trip will be October 22, 2020 at 9:30 am. At 12:01 pm and 2:30 pm will be the last to opportunities to operate Locomotive 40 until 2023.

We had a special photo charter yesterday. We had cold winds, 6 inches of snow and equipment that is all over a hundred years old. The train consisted of Locomotive 40 (built 1910,) Baggage/RPO 20 (built 1906), a Boxcar (built 1912), a Hopper (build 1906), Flatcar (built 1904 and Caboose 3 built 1909.
