Hey everyone! This is Ranger Eric. Look at what I found in the park today! This is the caterpillar stage of a Southern Flannel Moth! These are also commonly referred to as Asps by many. I have wanted to see one of these for quite a while now and this is my first one! This species has barbs located beneath the hair-like structures you see covering its body that can inject venom so definitely appreciate these without touching or picking them up in order to avoid being stung!
