As Kansas lawmakers give the Kansas City Chiefs and Royals more time to decide on their future stadium plans, some concerns are being raised about what that would look like and how close the teams are to making a decision.

Kansas Governor Laura Kelly announced on Thursday, July 17, that she joined the coalition to send a letter to U.S. Secretary of Education Linda McMahon to make the demands.

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - After a nice break from the heat Thursday, the warming trend is about to kick into high gear this weekend with highs in the mid to upper 90s. While a few thunderstorms are possible, on a large scale this weekend forecast continues to look mainly dry.

A man was killed and two others are hospitalized after a shooting Wednesday at an apartment complex in Garden City. The victim was identified as 23-year-old Brayden Becker. Three teens, ages 19, 16 and 15, were arrested in connection with the shooting, the Garden City Police Department said in a social media post Thursday.

A report says several Kansas policies restrict access to birth control. Also, the state falls short of protecting access to contraceptives by having no policies in several key areas.

First responders are working to remove a semi-truck in northern Kansas on Thursday that has rolled onto its side and is blocking traffic. Marshall County Emergency Management shared on social media the truck is blocking part of Highway 77 about eight miles north of Marysville.
