Jay-Z and his attorneys have been adamant that Jane’s Doe’s lawsuit holds the same lack of integrity and honesty they feel her lawyer does. After the lawsuit was first filed in December, 2024, Jay-Z asserted that Buzbee contacted the rapper’s team before. Still, he declared that he was more than prepared to deal with the accusations.

Jane Doe’s lawsuit revolved around an incident she says happened in September 2000, when she was 13 years old. In the suit, Doe claims she was lured to an afterparty following the MTV Video Music Awards, drugged, and raped by both Jay-Z and Sean “Diddy” Combs, who is currently facing multiple other lawsuits.
