Eddie Murphy is going to think pink. The comedy legend has revealed that he will take on the role of Inspector Clouseau in a new “Pink Panther” movie. Murphy, who stars in the upcoming action comedy “The Pickup,” with Pete Davidson and Keke Palmer, said playing the iconic character is on the docket of his upcoming projects.
Eddie Murphy, for his part, looked quite dapper in all black, with his black suit jacket over a high-necked black sweater. Then there was Pete Davidson in a tracksuit.

The last actor to play the bumbling Inspector Clouseau on the big screen was Steve Martin; first in 2006's "The Pink Panther" and later in 2009's "The Pink Panther 2." But it was the late Peter Sellers who originated the role in 1963's "The Pink Panther" and went on to play the character in the five sequels that followed.
"Well, he has to be French, but he could also be Haitian," Murphy said of his take on Inspector Jacques Clouseau.
