Near-record heat​ is in the forecast through mid-week, then a cold front arrives Saturday into Sunday, bringing back average temperatures.

After three weeks of cold weather, a warm weekend and week are expected in North Texas. January was the coldest in 14 years, but the first week of February is forecasted to have an average high of 74 degrees,

It won't be as cold tomorrow morning, with upper 40s in most locations across North Texas. Nothing but sunshine and way-above-normal temperatures to start the new month. Highs are expected to be between 15 and 22 degrees above normal for this time of year.

A couple of cold fronts will impact North Texas this week, but the cooler air associated with these fronts will remain north of the Dallas-Fort Worth area. As a result, we will have to wait until late Saturday for the next significant cool-down.
