Arizona State's disastrous 2024-25 season mercifully came to an end Tuesday with a 71-66 loss to Kansas State in the first round of the Big 12 Tournament. Because of behavior and injury issues, head coach Bobby Hurley had trouble fielding a competitive team over the final six weeks of the season.

In the penultimate game at the opening day of the Big 12 tournament, the No. 10-seeded Wildcats draw the No. 15-seeded Sun Devils.

With the win, No. 10 seed K-State (16-16) advances to the second round of the Big 12 Tournament, where it will play No. 7 seed Baylor at 6 p.m. on Wednesday. No. 15 seed Arizona State (13-19) is one and done.
