An Idaho judge lifted a gag order on Thursday (July 17) in the high-profile murder case involving Bryan Kohberger, who pleaded guilty to the 2022 killings of four University of Idaho students. The order had previously barred police and prosecutors from discussing the case publicly.

In early July, much to the surprise of the true-crime fans who had been avidly following the story, Bryan Kohberger pleaded guilty to the murders of four college students in Moscow, Idaho, a case that has captivated and disturbed the public since it took place in November 2022.
Two dozen media outlets have asked the Ada County judge in the Bryan Kohberger case to drop the order ahead of Kohberger’s sentencing on July 23.
