Johnston’s record-setting starter goal came on a shot from the immediate left of the net. The 21-year-old forward already in his 43rd career playoff game was skating toward the back wall and passing the red line when he took the shot that ricocheted off goalie Mackenzie Blackwood.

It took the Dallas Stars just nine seconds to find the net in a crucial Game 5 matchup against the Colorado Avalanche. Stars center Wyatt Johnston was able to slip one past Avs goalie Mackenzie Blackwood to score what’s officially the fastest goal in Stars playoff history, giving Dallas a very early 1-0 lead.
