By inking a pact with French broadcaster TF1 to carry its live sports, drama series and reality shows, the streaming giant is evolving into a giant aggregator — that looks a lot like the Pay TV interface of old.

Netflix subscribers in France will be able to watch TF1 channels on the streaming platform. The landmark deal — described as a “new kind of partnership” by Netflix — will see TF1 Group’s live channels and on-demand content available to Netflix members in France as part of their existing subscription.
