Colony Ridge, a residential community near Houston that's been accused of being a safe haven for people in the country without legal status, was the focus of a federal immigration enforcement operation on Monday morning, according to Texas Gov. Greg Abbott.

Gov. Greg Abbott (R-TX) said the Trump administration has helped state forces effectively shut down illegal immigration along the Texas-Mexico border and touted a major decline in unlawful crossings in a town that was a hot spot during the Biden administration’s border crisis.

Texas troopers and federal agents are conducting an operation in Colony Ridge, Gov. Greg Abbott announced Monday, a housing development outside of Houston that has been accused of selling land to undocumented people.

Texas Department of Public Safety troopers and special agents assisted Homeland Security Investigations with an operation in Colony Ridge Monday morning, Gov. Greg Abbott announced on social media. The governor said the initiative aims to apprehend "criminals & illegal immigrants" in the Liberty County housing development.
