Chicago Cubs outfielder Seiya Suzuki was called out on an unfortunately timed pitch clock violation during the first inning of Monday's game against the Kansas City Royals.

This is not the intent of the pitch clock. In fact, it's a shining example for umpires of how not to implement it.

The Cubs player needed to collect himself but neglected to call timeout and was a strikeout victim against the Royals.

Pete Crow-Armstrong is not in the lineup for the Cubs on Monday, so Seiya Suzuki will get the start in center.
