The New York Jets interviewed Minnesota Vikings defensive coordinator Brian Flores on Friday for their head coach vacancy. Flores is the 13th coaching candidate to meet with the Jets, who are also expected to speak to Vikings quarterbacks coach Josh McCown and Green Bay Packers defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley.

Brian Flores interviewed for the Jets’ head-coaching position on Friday and could be a strong candidate for the job. The former Dolphins head coach has more than 20 years of NFL experience. He has been Minnesota’s defensive coordinator since 2023 and employs a blitz-heavy scheme.

The trio increased the list to 15 coaching candidates to meet with the Jets, who have also conducted 15 interviews for their general manager job.

It’s been awhile since I have written about the New York Jets. After all last season was an absolute disaster and with the Jets firing their GM & Head Coach midseason (The right decision by the way) the goal was to get a new one.

New York needed a strong-willed coach who won’t be shaken on the big stage. With his run in Detroit and a connection to the Jets, he checked all the boxes.
