Heartland Bank's acquisition by a publicly traded regional bank in Indiana is set to take effect Feb. 1, according to a regulatory filing. German American Bancorp Inc. (Nasdaq:GABC) received the final necessary approval last week for the nearly all-stock deal to acquire Whitehall-based Heartland BancCorp (OTCQX:HLAN).

It took overtime, but the Hoosiers did just that. A defensive stop on the final possession of overtime helped Indiana earn a 77-76 victory at Ohio State – their fourth victory in a row over the Buckeyes. More importantly, it broke that nightmarish two-game losing streak and gave Indiana some positive momentum.

The last two games were rough for Indiana, but the Hoosiers are hoping for a bounce back effort against the Buckeyes.

Indiana men’s basketball’s senior guards made perhaps the two biggest plays in the Hoosiers’ 77-76 overtime win over Ohio State (10-8, 2-5 Big Ten) in Columbus. Goode nailed a game-winning 3-pointer with just over one minute remaining, while Leal blocked Ohio State freshman guard John Mobley Jr.’s mid-range jumper with three seconds left.

After four lead changes, Indiana forward Luke Goode capped off a career-night with the go-ahead 3-pointer with 1:07 left on the clock in overtime to help his team escape with a 77-76 win. It was a much needed victory for a Hoosiers team (14-5; 5-3 Big Ten) that had been blown out in their previous two games.

Despite holding a double-digit lead with less than five minutes remaining in regulation, Indiana needed overtime heroics from senior forward Luke Goode to defeat Ohio State 77-76 in thrilling fashion. Goode led the Hoosier attack with a career-high 23 points and shot 4 for 7 from beyond the arc.

During the National Championship celebration Ohio State Buckeyes head coach Ryan Day sent a very strong message to an assistant coach in the program, dubbing him as an upcoming talent in the country.

Just as Ohio State was celebrating its national championship victory at Ohio Stadium on Sunday, news broke that Jim Knowles was heading to Penn State.

The Hoosiers will be without Malik Reneau, Bryson Tucker, Gabe Cupps and Jackson Creel for Friday's game against the Buckeyes. Jakai Newton is listed questionable. Ohio State listed Devin Royal and Meechie Johnson Jr.

However, Knowles wasn’t in attendance. About an hour later, reports surfaced that Knowles is leaving Ohio State to serve as Penn State’s next defensive coordinator.
