Shohei Ohtani says he's still healing from offseason shoulder surgery, thinks he can pitch in May
Complicating Ohtani's return to pitching is the fact that the Dodgers aren't going to want to lose him as a DH for a single game. Dodgers general manager Brandon Gomes has said Ohtani will be going straight from simulated games to real MLB games, bypassing a rehab assignment in the minors.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said Wednesday that Ohtani (shoulder/elbow) will not pitch in Cactus League games this spring, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports. It's not a surprise, as the Dodgers don't anticipate Ohtani joining their rotation until May as he comes back from right elbow surgery and left shoulder surgery.
