Following the Game 5 loss, the Leafs are now 1-13 in their last 14 potential series-clinching games. After dropping their second straight game and failing to eliminate the Senators, Maple Leafs coach Craig Berube made clear he isn’t planning major lineup changes for Game 6.

The loss means the Maple Leafs are 1-13 in postseason games where they could eliminate an opponent since Matthews, Marner and William Nylander started playing together in 2016 -- 1-12 since John Tavares signed a seven-year, $77 million contract July 1, 2018, the center missing three of those games with an injury.

The 28-year-old shook off the Rielly hit and wired his first career postseason goal through a Tkachuk screen and past Maple Leafs goalie Anthony Stolarz at 3:46 of the second period. It would hold up as the game-winning goal.
