NORTHPORT, Ala. ( WBRC) - A woman has been charged with capital murder after a deadly shooting in Northport July 2. The Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit and Northport Police responded to the 11400 block of Fairwood Avenue in Huntington Place where a man had been shot multiple times. He was taken to the hospital where he died.

A 47-year-old Tuscaloosa County woman has been charged with capital murder after a deadly shooting in Northport's Huntington Place neighborhood Wednesday evening.

A 47-year-old woman has been arrested after a July 2 shooting that killed a man in Northport. Joyce Reed was charged with capital murder in connection with the shooting. She is being held in the Tuscaloosa County Jail without bond due to the capital charge, said Capt. Marty Sellers of the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit.
