The Social Security Administration under President Trump has raised its overpayment recovery rate to 50% in an effort to improve efficiency.

Those who get Supplemental Security Income (SSI) will receive their July 2025 payment Tuesday, July 1. The Social Security Administration suggests that if you don't receive your payment on the expected date, allow three additional mailing days before contacting the agency; most arrive timely because 99% of beneficiaries are paid electronically.

Because of the calendar, Social Security's July payments will arrive a few days sooner than in some months. But some may see smaller checks.
