The man accused of fatally shooting three people in a North Austin Target parking lot on Monday has been ordered to undergo a mental health evaluation.

Ethan Nieneker, a 32-year-old white man, spent time behind bars in 2016 and 2017 for family violence, driving while intoxicated and for violating the terms of his bond or protective order, according to court records.

The Austin Police Department is looking for a vehicle that was involved in a multi-vehicle crash that included a vehicle driven by the man suspected of shooting and killing three people at a Target in North Austin on Monday.

His record also includes two arrests for driving under the influence, charges of criminal mischief, and breaching a bond or protective order.
