Two Treasury Department employees affiliated with Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency will keep limited access to the highly sensitive payment system within the agency, following emergency court proceedings Wednesday that arose out of privacy concerns about DOGE’s access to the system.

Elon Musk's Department of Government Efficiency team has been given "read only" access to the Treasury Department's federal payment system, and federal expenditures have not been affected, the Treasury said in a letter to Congress late Tuesday.

Democratic lawmakers said they are looking into DOGE visits to NOAA offices, and potential cuts to the agency.
