Microsoft Outlook Outage Leaves Users Without Email

Microsoft 365 services, including Outlook, are experiencing heavy downtime today. Users have been reporting outages since the afternoon on social media and on Downdetector. "Users may be seeing degraded service functionality or be unable to access multiple Microsoft 365 services," an update on Microsoft's status page reads.
Microsoft services are down for thousands of users, according to tracking service Downdetector.
According to Downdetector, a site that tracks outages, more than 15,000 people reported that Microsoft 365 was not working as of 4 p.m. ET on Thursday. Microsoft 365 is a cloud-based productivity suite that includes apps such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams, as well as business-focused services like Exchange and OneDrive.
“We’re investigating a potential issue impacting multiple Microsoft 365 services, including Outlook, Microsoft Defender and Microsoft Purview,” Microsoft stated on X around 11:30 a.m. The latest update from the company said it restored the infrastructure but is working to mitigate the impact.
