The Nationals claimed Schultz off waivers from the Blue Jays on Friday. Schultz reached the majors with the Jays in 2025 for the first time, finishing with a 4.38 ERA and 28:8 K:BB over 24.2 innings.

The Blue Jays recalled Schultz from Triple-A Buffalo on Sunday. The 27-year-old righty has produced a 4.56 ERA and 1.44 WHIP over 23.2 innings in 12 appearances (two starts) with Toronto this season.
