When someone mentioned he looked a little out of place in the color scheme, Marchand smiled. The red, he said, "brings out my eyes."

After suiting up 1,247 times (including playoffs) in Black and Gold, Marchand took his first twirls in his new colors — those of the Florida Panthers — and noted the “mourning” that comes with moving on from an organization that has been part of his life since the June 2006 draft.
