With 90% of the U.S. population living within 10 miles of a Walmart store, recalls of products they sell can have widespread effects. Labeling mistakes, safety concerns and contamination can all cause food recalls. Prescriptions and other products can also be recalled.

Tri-Union Seafoods canned tuna sold at Costco, Trader Joe’s, Walmart, and other stores have been recalled for botulism risk. Brands include Genova and H-E-B.

It's not surprising shoppers at the nation's largest retailer may sometimes find products they bought face recalls and consmer alerts. Walmart has posted more than a dozen alerts to customers online in 2025.
