Most of southeastern Virginia is expecting to see snow Friday night into Saturday morning, with some areas potentially getting as many as 3-4 inches.

A winter storm is coming to Hampton Roads as early as Friday night — and 2-4 inches of snow is possible in some areas. However, there's a chance for some sleet and rain to mix in, which could affect snow accumulation.

The storm started dumping a mix of sleet and heavy snow Thursday morning in north Texas and Oklahoma, where schools canceled classes for more than 1 million students. Closures also kept students home in Kansas City and Arkansas,

Most of West Virginia will get additional snow before the weekend on top of the 6-12 inches the central part of the state has already seen since Sunday.
