Wizards of the Coast, owned by Rhode Island's toy conglomerate Hasbro, has officially announced the cards for the highly anticipated Magic: the Gathering and Final Fantasy Universes Beyond set coming out this year.

Magic: The Gathering has revealed a look at its forthcoming Final Fantasy -themed set. In an interview with IGN, senior game designer Daniel Holt talked about the collaboration and this initial look, which focuses on four major character cards and their associated pre-constructed Commander decks.

The upcoming Final Fantasy set in Magic: The Gathering has allowed the developers of the card game to include all kinds of fanservice and references. One of these has appeared in a video on the Magic: The Gathering YouTube channel, with text referring to a flub from the very first Final Fantasy.
