Kitao Sakurai is kicking it to the street. The filmmaker, perhaps best known for writing, directing and exec producing The Eric Andre Show, has been tapped to direct Street Fighter, Legendary Entertainment’s feature adaptation of the classic video game from Capcom.

Sakurai inherits the project from Talk To Me filmmakers Danny & Michael Philippou, who attached themselves in April of 2023, following the studio’s acquisition of exclusive film and TV rights to the property.
