The National Hurricane Center increased its odds that a tropical system could develop near Florida late this week or early next week as forecasters expect a wet July 4 weekend for South Florida.

Florida is in for a wet weekend as the chances that a tropical system will develop continue to climb.

The Fourth of July looks pretty wet overall for the state of Florida, especially the peninsula,” AccuWeather’s Alex DaSilva said earlier this week, and that’s the attitude weather officials are adopting with as the National Hurricane Center reports a 40% chance of tropical development along a front stuck over the Sunshine State.
