An area of low-pressure moving out of Florida could still strengthen into a tropical depression in the Gulf as it targets Louisiana.
The showers and storms are all connected to a tropical disturbance that is very disorganized. The National Hurricane Center (NHC) has a 40% chance of development in the next few days. That chance for a tropical depression is low because of the limited time the area of disturbed weather will be over water.
