Denny Hamlin has said several times in recent years that if he had to choose between reaching 60 career Cup wins or finally winning his first career Cup championship, he’d choose 60 wins every time.

Denny Hamlin was just 13 laps away from victory when the red flag came out for a quick deluge of rain at Dover. Unwilling to give up the lead, Hamlin had to restart three restarts, and drivers came through on new tires for his second straight victory at the Delaware track.

Denny Hamlin is now a three-time race winner at Dover, a track that was previous his achilles heel.

Denny Hamlin prevailed in Sunday’s EchoPark AutoTrader 400 at Dover (Del.) Motor Speedway – a race that featured a 56-minute red flag for rain, late-race strategy decisions, and involved a pair of overtime restarts before the trophy was ultimately settled between a pair of Joe Gibbs Racing teammates.
