An Air India plane with more than 200 people on board crashed near the airport in India's city of Ahmedabad, the airline and police officials said.

King Charles has made a statement after an Air India flight bound for London crashed shortly after takeoff with more than 240 people aboard. The King, 76, sent his sympathies in a statement shared to social media.

An early focus of the probe includes a possible loss or reduction of thrust.
